I'm only guessing this patch contains a no-cd patch since the one for age2 does. The UserPatch for Aoe2 does not contain a no-CD patch. It simply modifies your existing exe file. If you have a no-CD exe, then you still have one after applying the UserPatch. But if you don't have a no-CD exe, then you still need a CD even with the UserPatch.
